Our mind is made up of the conscious and subconscious. The conscious part is our practical side which we are very much aware of, it’s where we make our decisions. The subconscious part is the emotional part that remembers our habits, this ticks away in the background and usually we are not aware of it. The subconscious is important as it helps us to carry out day to day activities without us having to think, like brushing our teeth and driving a car. Our subconscious also holds memories and conditioning that cause us to react to situations and to repeat habits which we find difficult to control or easily give in to.
Hypnotherapy is a safe and natural complementary therapy that takes you into a wonderful dream like state, where your subconscious mind is open to suggestion. It's here that the therapy begins. Hypnotherapy differs to stage hypnosis. Stage hypnosis is used to entertain an audience and is short lived. With hypnotherapy, the long-term goal is behaviour change and freedom from limitations.
I use hypnotherapy to guide you into a very deep state of physical and mental relaxation. In this deeply relaxed state, the conscious, thinking part of your mind can switch off, whereas the deeper, subconscious part of your mind will be open to positive suggestions. I will utilise these suggestions in a therapeutic way and together we can work through the emotions, behaviours and thought patterns that are preventing you from moving forwards. Hypnotherapy is a very positive and effective treatment and it can help you to make the changes you want in your life.
I have always been aware of the power of nature, its beauty and its mood lifting capabilities.
It’s a well-known fact that walking in the countryside or on a beach can have a profound impact
on our mental wellbeing as well as our physical health. Surrounding yourself with house plants has a similar effect and it has been scientifically
proven that not only do they improve the quality of the air but they can also aid concentration,
boost self-esteem and help to relieve stress and anxiety.
As a nature lover, I believe that being outside in the natural world can be so beneficial to our
mental wellbeing so if we can’t be outside, then why not bring the outside in.
I like to surround myself with houseplants so I have made my therapy room a place where you can
relax and feel comfortable and benefit from the therapeutic qualities of my plants.
I offer a completely professional and confidential service which can be carried out face to face
based in Credenhill, Hereford, or if you’d prefer, it can be done in the comfort of your own
home
and familiar surroundings online via Zoom.
